Munnar- Where to Stay

Munnar is located at an altitude of 2,000 meters to 2,600 meters above sea level. Munnar is situated at the meeting junction of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Kundala and Nallathanni. This hillstation is on the Western Ghats, located in the Idukki district. The highest peak in South India, Anamudi is in Munnar. Idukki,  a landlocked district borders the districts of Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kottayam and also the Western Ghats mountain range in the east. There are many hotels in Munnar.

Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam is just 15 km from Munnar. It is a sanctuary for South India's endangered mountain goat, the Nilgiri Tahr. The Eravikulam National Park is famous for its stark beauty against the rolling grasslands and sholas which are spread over 97 sq km in the hills of Rajamalai. Its an ideal place for trekking.
