Munnar is located at an altitude of 2,000 meters to 2,600 meters above sea level. Munnar is situated at the meeting junction of three
mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Kundala and Nallathanni. This hillstation is on the Western Ghats, located in the Idukki
district. The highest peak in South India, Anamudi is in Munnar. Idukki, a landlocked
district borders the districts of Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kottayam and also the Western

Eravikulam National Park
Eravikulam is just 15 km from Munnar. It is a sanctuary for South India's endangered mountain goat, the Nilgiri Tahr.
