Munnar, Famous town for Tea





Munnar is the very famous hill station which is located in the southern state Kerala, India. Munnar is the most renowned place in Kerala. It was the summer resort of the British. This beautiful place is located at the Idukki district of Kerala. Munnar has full blessing of nature. There is no parameter to count its beauty and that the reason it is more popular among the tourist.



 It is a good place to stay to see the surrounding countryside. It is also a popular place for Indian honeymooners. This famous hill station is located in the western Ghats of Kerala. The name of this beautiful place is derived from the name of 3 rivers at the convergence of which Munnar is located which are Nallathanni, Madhurapuzha , Kundaly rivers. The town is divided into two parts, Old Munnar, where the tourist information office is, and Munnar, where the bus station and most guest houses are located.

1. Eravikulam National Park
This is the very famous park in Munnar. It is home to the several species of rare butterflies, birds, and animals.  This place is very famous for trekking and also offers panoramic views of tea plantation and rolling hills covered by blanket of cloud.
2. Anamudi Peak
It is the topmost peak in south India with a height of over 2700 m. To visits this spot there is need to
 take permission from forest and wildlife authorities.
3. Mattupetty
It  is situated at a height of 1700 m above sea level, and it has Storage Mansory Dam and a beautiful lake which offers boat rides.



 All the above places are very famous in Munnar . The view of whole Munnar is just fabulous. It continuously provides eye catching views that attracts many tourists from all over the world which ultimately increases the need of Hotels in Munnar. There are several 5 star, 4 star, 3 star and 2 star  hotels in Munnar that provides good service in reasonable rate. Which provide the view of whole Munnar. Kerala's Marvels


Kerala 

Situated between the Arabian Sea on the west and Western Ghats on the east, is a narrow strip of land, Kerala, a dream vacation. The palm laced beaches of Varkala and Kovalam, the Munnar tea gardens, the backwaters of Kuttanad and kumarakom and the mysterious woods and forests of Thekkady and the amazing valleys are a life time experience.

Beaches
On the western coast and by the Arabian Sea is Kerala's long coastline of around 580 km., which is lined with sandy beaches. Kovalam beach near Thiruvananthapuram attracts tourist the most. The popular beaches of Kerala are the Nattika beach, Alappuzha Beach, Vadanappilly beach,  Kappad, Fort Kochi, Marari beach and Varkala.


Backwaters
The backwaters of Kerala are a line of lakes and brackish lagoons which lie parallel to the Arabian Sea coast, which is also known as the Malabar Coast. The houseboat rides in the backwaters provide a major tourist attraction. Alappuzha, Kollam and Kumarakom are famous for backwater tourism. The boat races which are held during festival seasons attract tourists from all regions.

Hill Stations

In the East of Kerala the land is encroached upon by the Western Ghats, therefore the region includes wide deep valleys, high mountains and dangerous gorges. Most of the lands are covered with thick dense forest while various regions are under the tea and coffee plantations or cultivation of food and other crops. Wayanad, MunnarVagamonPeermadeNelliyampathi and Ponmudi are some of the popular hill stations.
